The buffer region on the Polish-Belarusian border has been operating since 13 June. As then justified by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, the request to make a peculiar region was due to the fact that the migration pressures were increasing**. This was seen in the statistic that the ministry presented in September during the first extension of the zone. According to the data, from the establishment of the zone, only a fewer more than 6,000 attempts were recorded by the end of August, while more than 17,000 specified incidents were revealed in the same period prior to the introduction of restrictions.
