The Łukasiewicz investigation Network will support the production of bulletproof vests, military masking systems and equipment. The company signed a strategical partnership agreement with Lubawa S.A. and Miranda Spółka z o.o. The agreement concluded at the Łukasiewicz Centre assumes the implementation of joint R & D, investment and implementation projects.
Cooperation will focus on modern materials and technologies for the defence sector, including ballistic shields and specialized method fabrics with increased strength and multispectral masking systems for soldiers and equipment.
A number of Łukasiewicz investigation Network Institutes are active in joint projects: Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials, Łódź Institute of Technology, Institute of Non-ferrous Metals and Institute of Electrical Engineering.
"The fresh strategical partnership is another bridge between discipline and industry. We will make technologies that will increase state safety and strengthen Poland's competitiveness. I am pleased that we can simultaneously implement the assumptions of the circular economy in the field of defence" - emphasised Dr. Hubert Cichocki, president of the Łukasiewicz Centre, referring to the strategical directions of the Network.
Lubawa S.A. is simply a Polish leader in the production of ballistic shields, bulletproof vests and specialized coated fabrics. Miranda Spółka z o.o. specializes in camouflage systems of innovative textile materials for military and industrial applications.
"Development of Poland's defence possible requires close cooperation between national manufacture and Polish technological base. In the current geopolitical conditions, in addition to global cooperation, it is crucial to build consistently our own competences in defence-related areas," said Grzegorz Dybus, president of “MIRANDA” Spółka z o.o.
The partnership fits into all 4 strategical directions of the Łukasiewicz investigation Network for the period 2025–2034. These are: state defence and security, industrial chemistry, energy transformation and circular economy.
