Stefan Niesiołowski is simply a man with controversial views, but he is firm and relentless in his beliefs. He became celebrated as a politician, prof. of biology and entomologist.. He is besides a parliamentarian with many years of experience – MP and Senator, and in 2007–2011 Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.
In the times of the Polish People's Republic, Niesiołowski was an active opposition activist – co-founder of the Movement organization, author of underground texts and leader of anti-communist actions. Arrested and sentenced to prison, later active in the ROPCiO and "Solidarity", interned after martial law was introduced. Investigated by SB for many years, he published in the independent press and conducted opposition lectures.
Niesołowski was besides a co-founder of the Christian-National Unity and an active associate in political life since the 1990s – he sat in the Sejm and the legislature for various groups, including AWS, POs and European Democrats. He besides served as Deputy Marshal of the Sejm and president of the legislature Committee. In 2019, he ceased his political activities following corruption charges, of which he was acquitted in 2023.
In 2025, he returned to the PO group.
