Communication from the Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School on the message by the Minister Barbara Nowacka on KROPS of 12.11.2024 at a press conference
Representatives of the broad social Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School, created for the benefit of Polish students and their reliable education and education, which brings together more than 70 social organizations, welcomed the message of min. B. Nowacka during a joint press conference with the Minister of athletics and Tourism, formulated on the expertise and activities of KROPS.
On the question of the writer of Polish Radio about the press conference organized by KROPS in the Catholic Information Agency on wellness education and another changes introduced by MEN, the minister gave an arrogant and disrespectful answer. B. Nowacka accused the Speakers of the Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School, which she called “a group of orthodoxs, a lie and manipulation, and a deficiency of cognition of the program basis. In order to ridicule the critical views of the draft regulation to introduce compulsory sexual education into schools, the minister utilized the evaluated terms of discrediting participants and manipulated the sense of the statements made at the conference in KAI.
It should be stressed that this took place during the consultations announced by the MEN on "health education". The preservation of Barbara Nowacka min. undermines the credibility of the consultations presently conducted, has the characteristics of adversaries discrimination and gives the worst evidence of the minister of education in office.
On behalf of a wide scope of parents and teachers, we powerfully argue specified treatment, justified in substance and publically presented opinions on the draft programme basis of the subject "health education" and those who express it.
We would like to inform you that our experts gathered at the conference in KAI have carried out a deep, factual analysis of the draft regulation on the basis of compulsory wellness education. The focus was on issues related to compulsory sexual education, in view of the simultaneous announcement of the abolition of voluntary HED and problematic legal issues. At the same time, we point out that most of the content contained in the programming basis of the fresh object is present in the current programming bases of many subjects, including physical education, biology, household education, cognition of society, education for security, entrepreneurship, religion, ethics.
This fact is deliberately overlooked in the discourse about the request for a fresh subject, even hidden from the public. This aims to make a belief of the absolute necessity of introducing wellness education into schools, bearing the hallmarks of manipulation. However, the proposal for a separate subject "health education" replicates the topics existing in the current programming basis, which will further burden students. During the conference in KAI, key facts and information were presented that rise legitimate concerns for parents and many experts.
MEN project:
- hits the undisturbed psychosexual improvement of children and young people, which can lead to many individual tragedies,
- is anti-health – there is no crucial preventive information, e.g. the request for self-acceptance, the effects of adopting puberty blockers,
- is anti-family – it separates sexuality from matrimony and family; it treats voluntary childlessness decisions in relation to the decision of many children, thereby reconciling the good future of nation, state, economy,
- breaks the law, ignoring the constitutional rule of parents' right to rise children according to their own beliefs, including in the moral and spiritual sphere,
- is contrary to the teaching of the Church,
- is a manipulation – compulsory sexual education wants to introduce “undercover” wellness education into schools.
According to Dr. Zbigniew Barciński, president of the NATAN Pedagogy Association, the teaching framework for sexuality in the Polish school was the family. MEN proposes to replace household with health. The household is removed, out of sight. It is simply a message depreciating the household and hitting it. alternatively of it, the main context of sexual education and value becomes pleasure. This will consequence in depravation and demoralisation of the young generation and failure of health.
In assessing the paper proposed by the MEN, the experts of the KROPS indicated that wellness education is simply a subject to be compulsory. MEN wants to force children and youth to take part in this kind of class and usage the state apparatus for it. It besides violates the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, which in Articles 48(1) and 53(3) formulates the rule of parental parenthood.

We are convinced that the B position presented today. Nowacka, which does not number with the voice of parents, requires strong social pressure.
