– Looks like everyone's right about TVP. The PiS is right that the fresh authorities of the Platform are illegal, that they are illegally taking over public tv buildings and the Platform is right that the PiS authorities, those who have ruled public tv for respective years, are besides illegal and besides illegally occupied these buildings.
The fact is that even in accordance with a resolution adopted yesterday by the Sejm, this resolution which was enforced by the centrelev coalition, this resolution which was cited present by the Minister of Culture, establishing a fresh power, the same Minister of Culture had no right to appoint fresh public tv authorities.
This resolution makes it clear that according to the 2016 Constitutional Court ruling – that is, the old Tribunal, Rzeplinski, which everyone considered more or little active, legal and democratically legitimized – the National Broadcasting Council must participate straight in the selection of public tv authorities. This has not been in the case of Jack Kurski, the ruling TVP for the past fewer years, but all the more reason for not seeing what we saw today!
Minister Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz is many things but is not the National Radio and tv Council. So giving as a legal basis a resolution that only the National Council can appoint the authorities of TVP and on this basis the appointment by the Minister of Culture unilaterally of the fresh Supervisory Board and the Management Board of TVP top is making voters idiots. ...
