According to Bloomberg, Washington and Moscow are seeking an agreement that would perpetuate Russia's business of parts occupied during the invasion of the territory and would push Ukrainian troops out of the parts of the lands they control.
Putin wants Ukraine to recognise the full annexation of Crimea and Donbas, which would mean the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from parts of the Lugansk and Donetsk region over which Kiev has control.
