**Marta Urzędowska: Gazeta Wyborcza:‘Israel enters Lebanon and bombes targets in Syria’**
"Israeli army confirms that it launched an offensive in Lebanon. "Our troops began a limited, localised and targeted rally for Hezbollah" - is simply a message by the Israeli army published yesterday morning. On Monday evening, however, the first reports appeared that Israeli soldiers were crossing the border with Lebanon. The army adds that the targets it attacks are "located in villages close to the border and pose a threat to Israeli communities in the north of the country". Israeli military officials stress that the soldiers who entered the site support artillery and air force. The military, while stressing that for now it is simply a tiny rally just off the border and that the army does not fight on the ground, at the same time they announce that Operation "Shot North" will be "continuated according to the assessment of the situation on the place and parallel to the war in Gaza and on another fronts". On Tuesday, an army spokesman, Admiral Daniel Hagari, admitted that "the Israelis would do whatever was necessary, never again, at any of Israel's borders, had an attack akin to that of October 7." Although there are no fighting at the site for the time being, on Tuesday afternoon the Israeli army ordered the people of 30 border Lebanese villages “for their own safety” to flee respective twelve kilometres north, without explaining why they should evacuate so far.”
