The National taxation Administration (KAS) summarised the checks carried out in the first half of 2025. In total, there were over 25.5 thousand. Its controllers then detected irregularities – according to finance.wp.pl – in 36 percent of the sales audited. A lot more irregularities than a year earlier During this inspection the controller visits the store or service company and buys the goods or services. In this way, it checks whether the seller records sales on the fiscal cash registry and gives the client a receipt. It turned out that, as Marcin Łoboda, the head of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Deputy Minister of Finance told PAP, 9055 cases (36%) were irregularities. As a result, the KAS issued nearly 9.5 1000 punishment tickets for a full amount of over PLN 12.6 million. For comparison, 5944 irregularities were found in 2024 during 26.9 1000 inspections. The auditors then issued tickets for over PLN 8.7 million. The first three: construction, tourism and transportThe most irregularities were in the sectors: construction – 58 percent, tourism – 55 percent, passenger transport – 52 percent.
