It started with reports.
The investigation was initiated in early 2024 after media reports, in which it was suggested that an illegal abortion occurred in the territory infirmary Complex in Oleśnica. The case active a doctor, Gizela Jagielska, who gave potassium chloride straight to the heart in the ninth period of pregnancy. An entirely separate issue is the investigation into Grzegorz Braun. It is managed by the territory Attorney's Office in Wrocław. In November, the European Parliament lifted immunity from Braun, which allowed further legal steps to be taken, including possible charges.
Investigative findings show that charges against Braun may concern, inter alia, the unlawful imprisonment of a doctor, the violation of her physical immunity by pushing and holding her, insulting her while performing her duties, and claims for actions undermining her trust in the profession of doctor. Gizela Jagielska herself indicated that Braun had entered the administrative part of the hospital, blocked her exit and locked her in the room, preventing her from doing her job.
However, Braun is not the only individual charged. During the prosecution proceedings, they were besides erected by Marcie Cz., an activist of the Confederation of the Polish Crown.
