The intent of the visit was to present investment opportunities in the Bucza region, in peculiar in the industrial park operating there. It has good access to electricity sources, extended logistics infrastructure and adequate transport infrastructure, both road and rail (in both cases on the Warsaw-Kijów line) and easy access to the airport. precedence investment areas include the placement of industrial and processing enterprises, logistics hubs and sorting centres, IT cluster or recreational construction. The first companies have already started their business there, and further investors will receive appropriate incentives (e.g. taxation incentives, long-term leases). The mayor of Buczy encouraged the decision to enter the Ukrainian marketplace as rapidly as possible, so that the privileges of “first” investors could be exercised.
Due to the issue of appropriate business hazard management, in the face of the ongoing safety threat and the inactive unstable political and economical situation in Ukraine, as well as the inactive limited cognition of the Ukrainian marketplace by Polish companies, president Marek Górski pointed to the somewhat different order of improvement of economical cooperation preferred by the Confederate Lewiatan. He suggested establishing first closer trade cooperation, including multilateral cooperation with western companies, and only in the next phase – especially after the end of the war – a transition to direct investment decisions.
The discussion besides raised issues funding opportunities for investments, which are increasingly supported by EU funds (Ukraine Facility), another global donors and individual western countries. Polish banks, specified as Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego or Polish KredoBank in Lviv, are besides increasingly participating in this process. another investment barriers related to, inter alia, the increasing shortage of labour, the stableness of the Ukrainian legal strategy and its transparency, as well as the continuing – despite the actions taken in this area by the Ukrainian administration – were besides pointed out.
In the conclusions of the meeting, the Ukrainian side undertook to supply the Confederate Leviathan with additional, more detailed information on the possibilities of cooperation with the Buczy region and investment in its industrial park. They will then be presented to the associate States of Leviathan.
