The president has revealed the deadline
Karol Nawrocki announced on Radio Zet that he was planning a gathering with abroad Minister Radosław Sikorski.
There will be a gathering in October. We will discuss our expectations regarding the recovery of the situation in Polish diplomacy – informed.
The president reported that the gathering with the head of the MFA was scheduled for the first half of October. He stressed that the deficiency of a cast in at least half of diplomatic posts was a worrying situation and stressed the request to respect the constitutional prerogatives of the head of state, while expressing the hope of reaching an agreement.
The president had already announced that he was initially scheduled for an October gathering with Radosław Sikorski. At the time, he declared that he intended to make concrete proposals to the Minister, stressing the request to scope an agreement on the cast of ambassadors.
A dispute over ambassadors
The dispute over the cast of embassies has been going on since March 2024. At the time Radosław Sikorski announced the exchange of more than 50 ambassadors and withdrew any of the candidatures of the erstwhile MFA management.
Andrzej Duda then stressed that appeals and nominations require the signature of the President. In many institutions, among others in the US, alternatively of ambassadors, there are charge d’affaires, like Bogdan Klich, whose candidates both Andrzej Duda and Karol Nawrocki clearly opposed.
In early July, Karol Nawrocki declared his readiness to talk to Minister Sikorski about ambassadorial nominations. The head of the MFA besides confirmed his willingness to meet with the president to discuss this issue.

The president admitted that he did not remember precisely the subject of the conversation at the time of the symbolic photograph. He simply pointed out that the laughter most likely active 1 of the themes discussed at the time, possibly related to Donald Tuski.
It surely wasn't during Donald Trump's speech. I don't think Minister Sikorski was that broad a smile. I smiled, at least in my heart said the President.
