Donald Tusk himself sharpens the dispute over the result of the presidential election with his social media entries – reads "Sueddeutsche Zeitung".

The German paper writes present (30.06.2025) about irregularities related to the counting of votes during the second circular of presidential elections in Poland. He reports that in respective electoral committees, the votes were recalculated, due to the fact that errors occurred, mostly to the detriment of Rafał Trzaskowski, candidate of the pro-European government Donald Tusk.

"The home is not even considered a court"

And now "there is simply a dispute over whether all the votes should be recalculated," says correspondent "Sueddeutsche Zeitung" (SZ) Viktoria Grossmann. He besides writes about the evidence number of 54,000 electoral protests and the initiation of an investigation by Justice Minister and lawyer General Adam Bodnar.

"The question is whether the election committees simply miscalculated the votes, or whether there were intentions behind it. Meanwhile, the ultimate Court is already planning to issue a ruling on the validity of the elections this week. However, the competent chamber is not even considered to be a court by the EU Court of Justice; it was created and held politically in the times of the right-wing nationalist government of the Law and Justice," Grossmann reports.

"The doubts have been sown"

"While Tusk took credit in Brussels for the well-organised EU Council Presidency, which ends on Monday, Poland faces the same old problems. And now there's a dispute over the result of the election, which, as we all know, sharpens with entries like, 'As the honest have nothing to fear'. Doubts have been sown and can deepen the division between the camps" – the German writer estimates.

As he adds, in the liberal, pro-EU camp there have already been first warnings about creating a "mit of losers".

"Others call on Liberal camp for stronger defense. If specified irregularities were to arise after the PiS candidate lost, there could be mass protests a long time ago – those who request clear consequences after miscalculation of votes" - he writes.

The PiS wants the Tusk government to fall

Grossmann besides recalls that already on election night, erstwhile the first polls pointed to Trzaskowski's victory, PiS questioned this result. "It shortly stopped, however," he adds. Now the PiS warns the ruling camp against attempts to recalculate votes in more commissions than in 13 designated by the court.

"Time has come, (Karol) Nawrocki is to be sworn in as president of Poland on August 6. Even supporters of the recalculation of votes do not uncertainty that this will be the case, even if Navrocki’s advantage diminishes. However, the PiS organization and its candidate feel strong. They announced their intention to overthrow Tusk's government as shortly as possible, even before the next election," says "Sueddeutsche Zeitung".
