Donald Tusk said on Friday that president Karol Nawrocki and abroad Minister Radosław Sikorski should work out an effective compromise to resolve the long-standing dispute over ambassadorial nominations. The Prime Minister stated that he had already discussed this with Nawrocki.

Prime Minister ready to meet the President

Ambassadors origin conflict of Polish politicians
The argument for ambassadorial nominations between the government and the president has been moving since March 2024. At that time the head of the MFA Radosław Sikorski decided that Over 50 ambassadors will complete the mission, and respective candidatures submitted for acceptance by the erstwhile department management will be withdrawn. At the time, president Andrzej Duda stressed that "no Polish ambassador can be appointed or cancelled without the President's signature".
In place of ambassadors who completed their duties but were not formally cancelled by the President, they hit diplomats designated by the MFA with the position of charge d’affaires.

In early July, Nawrocki said he was ready to meet Minister Sikorskiwhich would concern the appointment of ambassadors. The head of the MFA besides declared that he was willing to meet with the president to discuss this problem.
