NEW YORK- A confrontation aboard a Spirit Airlines (NK) flight departing from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) resulted in three women, reportedly of Indian origin, being removed by police before departure.

The incident, which delayed the flight by over an hour, has gone viral on TikTok, with the original video amassing more than 4 million views.

The conflict began when a flight attendant mistakenly stated the flight was heading to New Orleans instead of its actual destination, New York (JFK).

The passengers challenged the error, which escalated tensions and led to their eventual removal by law enforcement.

Spirit Airlines Kicks Women

The video, uploaded by TikTok user @khamisidrismoh, shows the three women arguing with a Spirit Airlines crew member.

The disagreement arose when the flight attendant incorrectly announced New Orleans as the flight’s destination. Upon being corrected, she apologized, stating, “That is my mistake.”

Despite the apology, the women continued confronting the attendant. The video shows the women raising their voices, referencing the initial confusion repeatedly, and challenging the crew’s professionalism. When asked to stow their bags under the seat, they either did not hear or ignored the instruction, further aggravating the situation.

As the exchange escalated, the flight attendant warned the passengers they would be removed. “Just for that, I’m going to make sure you guys get off. This is easy for me. Watch,” she stated before walking away.

Police Intervention and Flight Delay

The second half of the TikTok footage shows police officers boarding the aircraft to remove the passengers. According to the uploader, the flight remained grounded for over an hour due to the standoff.

Police attempted to de-escalate the situation, requesting the women to leave the aircraft voluntarily. When the women refused, officers issued a final warning: “Either you are gonna get off the plane, or you’re going to jail.” Eventually, the women complied, gathered their belongings, and exited the aircraft.

Social media response has largely criticized the passengers for prolonging the situation and appearing disrespectful to the cabin crew.

The viral video has ignited debate over acceptable passenger behavior and how airlines handle onboard conflicts. While some users called out the crew for escalating the issue too quickly, most commenters expressed concern over the passengers’ repeated confrontations after the initial apology.

Spirit Airlines (NK) has not released a formal statement on the incident. However, it reflects ongoing industry challenges with managing unruly passenger behavior and enforcing compliance during boarding procedures.
