On the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the outbreak of the full-scale war in Ukraine, a series of peculiar screenings of the movie "Bucza" directed by Stanislav Tiunov will be held in Polish cinemas. Seanse in selected cities will be combined with meetings with the creators and characters of the film.
"Bucza" is simply a fact-based feature drama, showing the heroism of the average man in the realities of war and the hard moral choices which heroes face. This is 1 of the first full-length Ukrainian feature productions made after the outbreak of the full-scale war.
The movie is inspired by the actual past of Kazakh exile Konstantin Gudauskas, who evacuated over 200 civilians from occupied areas and will meet with viewers during selected shows in Poland.
"The authenticity of production is emphasized by dialogues between Russian soldiers, created on the basis of recordings of intercepted conversations. The movie utilized armored transporters and trucks acquired by the Ukrainian army. The photographs were taken in the Kiev circuit in the spring of 2023"- informs Bartosz Lachowicz, Ukraine! movie Festival.
"Bucza" was presented during the 10th installment of the movie festival Ukraine!. The planet premiere of the movie took place at the Warsaw movie Festival, where it was awarded in a vote of the public. Production was besides shown in the European Parliament"- adds.
