Polish peculiar troops ended their 3rd work in NATO consequence Forces. For the last six months, they have maintained their readiness to act anywhere in the world. They were prepared to conduct a full spectrum of peculiar operations on land, sea and air. For the first time, Poles were entitled to command a full-scale defence operation.
The peculiar troops were the only kind of Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland on work 3 times already. Soldiers were prepared to execute the most hard missions on land, sea and air anywhere in the world. For the first time Poles achieved the ability to command peculiar operations of the Alliance in a full-scale conflict (the alleged Major Joint Operation).
During the on-call session in SON, Poland had the position of a framework state. This means that our country has taken on the work to make leadership structures and coordinated logistics safety for peculiar operations. On the basis of the Kraków peculiar Forces Component Command, the peculiar Operation Component Command (SOCC) was created. On duty, it was subject to the Allied NATO Force Command in Dutch Brunssum. As the commander of Polish specialists emphasizes, DKWS is present the only command in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland playing a double role, the alleged dual hatted. This means that it is capable of simultaneously commanding peculiar operations in the national and allied system.
In addition to command in six months of readiness, task force units (ZZB) were left to which forces were assigned: GROM, Agat, Nile, Formoza and Air peculiar Operations Unit. On-call Poles collaborated with their partners from 14 Natov countries, including Romania, Hungary, Greece, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Croatia, Germany and Italy. For the first time, alongside partners from the Alliance associate States, a sub-unit of Georgian peculiar forces besides entered the boy on duty.
– Preparations for the on-call and on-call were carried out during the armed conflict in Ukraine and related changes in the Alliance's safety architecture, including the departure from the erstwhile NATO consequence Force expression [(NATO consequence Forces – NRF] – ed.] for the benefit of smaller but more efficient Allied consequence Force (ARF) – admits Gen. Dyw. Dr. Sławomir Drumowicz, Commander of peculiar Forces. “Despite the end of the shift, we will proceed to keep our readiness to carry out a full spectrum of peculiar operations, but already as a regional command of NATO peculiar forces on the east flank,” explains the commander of Polish specialists.
How did the specials pass six months in NATO? – There are many global projects behind us. We organised, among others, a conference in Krakow of NATO peculiar forces commanders, many different types of workshops and symposia. We besides took part in the exercises, so that we kept our separate forces ready to act immediately in case of activation," explains Colonel Mariusz Łapeta, the spokesperson for DKWS. Specialists participated, among others, in the "Steadfast Defender'24" and "Trojan Footprint'24" or "Cobra'24" exercises. “We did not forget about training peculiar forces of Ukraine and national obligations. All WS units have conducted program training, plus respective 100 of our soldiers each day support the protection of the east border of the country – the officer emphasizes.
The Natowski on-call of the Polish peculiar Forces (last in the NRF formula) ended on 30 June. The first work in the Allied consequence Forces (ARF) will be performed by Spanish peculiar Forces.
Poles have declared their readiness to take another shift in the future, but the deadline for specified a commitment is not yet known. erstwhile WS on-calls under the boy were held in 2015 and 2020.
