At the beginning of the 1990s, the Polish public was openly informed about the actual face of genocide carried out by the NKWD on Polish officers in the spring of 1940. The execution on those who had no chance of moving to the red side of power, mostly referred to as the Katyn crime, dragged a victim of nearly 22 1000 Polish soldiers[1].
The russian Kharkiv crime is part of a wider Katyn crime. During an exhumation survey in Kharkov, it was established that there were over 4,000 Poles, including 3820 WP officers. Ukrainian representatives besides took part in the exhumation work. It should be noted that soldiers from a separate company from the Kharkiv Mechanized Division from Dnepropetrovsk dug pits, then the exhumation squad entered[2]. Most soldiers from this company came from east and confederate Ukraine, including Donbass, Odessa and surrounding circuits.
Among the exhumed officers of the Polish Army was Captain Julius Heinzel. For his dedication Poland was awarded the VM Cross. A fewer weeks ago, widespread outrage was caused by the information that on 1 of the auction portals on the war-torn Ukraine there was this Cross at auction.
Initially, it was considered a forgery, but in fresh days it was found that the Ukrainian bidding included a real Polish order[3]. Given the fact that the Ukrainians in the 1990s were active in the work itself, we can presume that in this way he was put into the hands of the cemetery hyenas.
At this point, it is worth considering the meaning of any talks about the exhumation of the victims of the chauvinists of the band UPA. The photographs which came to Polish media from the time of the alleged exhumation in Ugła clearly show the mockery and humiliation the Ukrainian side treats Poles. The usage of dense equipment (i.e. excavators) for carrying out alleged exhumations is the best expression of deficiency of reliable approach to research.
Given that the victims of the UPA band are not in regular graves, whose depth can be pre-identified, but as victims of criminal aggression they were buried in the pits of death, which entailed haste, and thus omitting any rules of depth of the grave, the engagement of dense equipment is an example of an effort to cover up the traces of the crime, and thus the work of the now glorified UPA in Ukraine.
A reliable state, in order to make and not fall into anarchy, has the right to require a citizen to sacrifice and responsibility. But the actual test of the work and integrity of the state towards the citizen is his respect for his defenders, no substance who died defending the Homeland. presently managed, Poland is not a reliable state and is dismissive of its citizens who died at the hands of Ukrainian chauvinists.
It gives a clear message for the future for possible defenders of its integrity and boundaries – “Weigh at the hands of what enemy of Poland you will fall, Polish soldier and average citizen, as it depends on whether you will be commemorated and your memory will not perish”.
