Survey: Poles share in Nawrocki's assessment

The recently elected President, Karol Nawrocki, is facing the challenge of establishing a relation with Ukraine. Is he gonna stand up to the function of head of the armed forces? See what Poles think about his chances according to the latest poll.


32.6 percent of respondents believe that Karol Nawrocki will be able to take care of good relations with Ukraine. The other opinion is 40.3% of respondents - according to a survey conducted by ACE investigation for Onetu.

The State Election Commission announced on 2 June 2025 the results of the 2nd circular of the presidential election, stating that Karol Nawrocki obtained 50.89 percent of the vote and was elected president, while Rafał Trzaskowski obtained 49.11 percent of the vote. Nawrocki is to be officially sworn in as president on August 6.

According to the UCE investigation poll for Onetu, 32.6% of respondents believe that Karol Nawrocki, as president, will be able to take care of good relations with Ukraine - 10.3% chose the answer "yes" and 22.3 percent - "more or little so". The other opinion is 40.3% of respondents - 13.4 percent chose the answer "decisively not", and 26.9 percent - "preferably not". 27 percent of respondents have no opinion on this.

The biggest belief that Nawrocki's choice will be affirmative for relations with Ukraine, has PiS voters. 61.2% of them think so. In turn, this is 47.5% among Confederate voters.

65.3 percent of the voters of the Civic Coalition believe that Nawrocki will not be able to get a good relation with the authorities in Kiev. Similarly, the majority of left-wing voters (57.6%).

The votes of the 3rd Way voters are reasonably evenly distributed. 41.3 percent of them believe that Nawrocki will not take care of good relations with Ukraine, but the other opinion is 39.2%.

The survey besides asked whether the fresh president could handle the function of head of the armed forces. 44 percent of respondents believe that yes - 19.8 percent "decisively yes" and 24.2% - "more or little so". The other opinion is 36% of respondents: 15.6 percent of them chose the answer "decidingly not", and 20.4% - "preferably not". There are no 20.1% of respondents on this subject.

The vast majority of PiS and Confederate voters believe Nawrocki will be the appropriate head of the armed forces. On the side of the PiS voters, 86.9 percent of those surveyed, and 81.3 percent among the voters of the Sławomir Mentzen party. Among KO voters, 16 percent believe that Karol Nawrocki will be a good leader of the army. For left-wing voters, this is 20.2%. 34.8 percent of them are affirmative about Nawrocki’s qualifications as the future head of the armed forces.

The survey was conducted on 13-14 June by the Computer-Assisted Web Interview by UCE investigation on a example of 1017 adult Poles aged 18-80.(PAP)
