My condolences
I profoundly regret the farewell of our soldier Matthew, who, despite the efforts of doctors, died after a bandit attack during the defence of the Polish border – wrote Minister of National Defence, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on the X portal.
Command reports death
The soldier was 21 years old and was from Mazovia. He was sent to the border immediately after completing his training. Despite 3 surgeries and a week's doctors' fight, he was unsuccessful in his rescue. Deputy Prime Minister and head of the MON, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish, ordered the departure of the state flags to half the mast in all military units subordinate to the MON as a sign of mourning, which will run from Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to Friday to midnight.
The death of a soldier was reported by the Armed Forces General Command, stating that he died on June 6 at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw, surrounded by support of household and soldiers. The Command reported that despite the assistance given at the site of the attack at the border with Belarus and the efforts of doctors, it was unsuccessful to save him. A close soldier was provided with support and intellectual care, which will proceed according to household needs.
