Dead Jarzabin

This mine needs neither to dig into the ground nor physical contact with the enemy's vehicle. All we gotta do is find the mark 200 meters from the cargo. Then the mine will detect it, and erstwhile the object is close at 80 m, it will detonate and destruct it. “The strategy of anti-tank mines Jarzebin is simply a fresh quality,” say the bomb squad from Brzeg, who trained with equipment handling.

Jarzebin's anti-tank mine management strategy is simply a Polish construction developed by the Military Institute of Engineering Technology from Wrocław. Bombers from the Bank (for now in the exercise version) they have had it for a year. – This is simply a technological leap, a completely different quality in mined terrain. Jarzębina is an autonomous mine, i.e. it detects the mark itself with sensors: laser, vibration, sound and thermal. Then, after approaching an enemy vehicle at 80 m, the mine explodes, throwing distant an explosively formed charge (explosively formed projectile – ed.), which pierces the armor of the opponent's car," explains Colonel Krzysztof Jaroszek, commander of the 1st Bomb Squadron from the Bank.

RECLAMA

As he points out, the large advantage of Jarzabin is besides their efficiency in covering its minefield range. conventional anti-tank mines on the minefield are dug into the ground all 4 m. Jarzabins can be set on the surface all 100 m. So there are only a fewer to safe the area to which a fewer 100 average mines would be needed. “The Jarzabins can replace, but they can besides perfectly complement conventional minefields,” concludes the commander of the Brest bomb squad.

One Jarzebin strategy consists of 21 sets of cargo and sensors. Bombers from 1st Regiment in Brzeg regularly practice calibration and assembly of autonomous mines. It takes about 40 minutes. – This is much more advanced training than conventional mines. It requires greater method awareness. Systems request to be adjusted properly; the mine should be calibrated to work properly," explains Colonel Jarozek.

Smart minefield

Jarzębina can both be steered by an operator which is about a kilometer from the cargo and has contact with it via GPS as well as act alone. - She picks the mark at a distance of up to 200 m and follows him. Then, erstwhile the mark comes closer to 80 m, it itself “makes a decision” about its liquidation, dependent on whether the conditions for the detonation and discharge of the cargo are favourable”, explains young chor. Wojciech, Jarzabin's operator in the 1st Bomb Regiment.

In the second variant of Jarzabin operation, thanks to GPS communication, the operator can control both a single mine, a fewer and a full minefield. – It can halt or licence the destruction, but in order for it to happen, certain conditions must be met. The mine chooses the mark to hit the vehicle with a charge at an angle of 90 degrees to the side of the vehicle, the weakest point of the armor – the teacher describes.

Bombers from the Bank train on exercise mines, without explosive charge. – This is fresh equipment, so it is inactive demanding, but the service of Jarzabin is going better and better for the soldiers – declares young chor. Wojciech.

The training strategy does not let detonation. The effective demolition of the opponent as part of the exercise is reported not by the real explosion, but by the diode, which ignites erstwhile Jarzebin "explods" and comes to the discharge of deadly charge. Training 1 squad serving Jarzabine takes about a week. Later this year, the Brest bomb squad is to receive these systems in the combat version.
