Sylvia Plath became a film. The caricature of a neurotic, hysterical author – or even a neurotic, hysterical woman. She was powerfully identified with intellectual illness, depression, failure of control. In fact, she was individual who had large control. She was a very disciplined, calm person, says Heather Clark.
