Warning from Kiev: "He can do it"
In conversation with The Guardian Zelenski makes it clear that Europe can no longer be considered safe solely due to its belonging to NATO or geographical distance from the front. – He can do it – he talks about Putin. He adds: It is not just Ukraine anymore, but the full European safety order.

Such operations, though not exceeding the threshold of formal war, systematically research how far Russia can go without triggering a decisive NATO response. And all omission on the part of the West only encourages the aggressor.
Putin's against the wall. And that's what makes him dangerous.
Zelenski notes that Putin cannot afford to lose – neither in image nor internally. Russian propaganda has for 2 years presented the "special operation" as a conflict to last the full country against alleged NATO threat. This creates an interior imperative of escalation: the harder it goes in Ukraine, the greater the request to open a fresh field of confrontation.
According to Zelenski, Russia does not request real reasons to attack. It needs an external enemy to aid keep interior cohesion, dominate media transmission and justify further repression of its own society.
Trump, however, was calm
