The SLD tried respective times to convince Barbara Nowacka to abandon Janusz Palikot and choose Leszek Miller. If that didn't work, the Alliance decided to make its own Nowacka. It became Dr. Magdalena Cucumber, the authoritative candidate of the SLD for president of the country.


Barbara Nowacka was introduced as a non-aggressive and lessened politician to her colleagues from another parties in tv discussions. She chose a method, rather not the worst, strong distance from the PO-PiS conflict, but besides from the SLD, who in her opinion abandoned leftist ideals. He is positioned in the function of an outsider, tired of unproductive disputes of old organization eaters, representing a young, dissatisfied generation. And he does it calmly, without the typical Palikot people's confusion and aggression. This may appeal to voters, and not just the left-wing ones. It seems that on a akin note will play SLD. Magdalena Ogórek, despite an unfortunate presentation in the function of a candidate, has the chance to become specified a “New Year's SLD”. He is not a individual associated with politics, which many treat as a defect, but for voters he does not should be specified a defect. Paradoxically, the criticism that has fallen upon her and the effort to ridicule her immediately at the start of many commentators and political competitors, may consequence in the other effect - a shadow of sympathy for the attacked from everywhere candidate. The question is whether she can avoid spectacular failures, due to the fact that these will be ruthlessly exploited. Its disadvantage, like Andrzej Duda from the Law and Justice, is the deficiency of recognition. And this SLD will gotta work hard and learn from the mistakes made at the start of Sebastian Wierzbicki in Warsaw (although there is no clarity). However, after the first shock has subsided, which ordered to knock on the head and treat the choice of SLD in terms of political suicide or “a beautiful disaster”, it is worth considering whether this experiment, if well conducted, can win (i.e. give the SLD a score above 10%.)
