A rocket with a Dragon capsule, aboard which is simply a Polish astronaut Sławomir Uznański-Wiśniewski, successfully launched from Florida on Wednesday morning. The global Space Station (ISS) is scheduled to scope around 15 on Thursday.
"Dear Polish people and Poles, present we are taking a immense step towards the technological future of Poland. In space I am not alone, I represent us all. Space for everyone. Space for everyone" – as quoted by PAP, the Polish astronaut.
Sławomir Uznański-Wiśniewski's flight into space was congratulated, among others, by president Andrzej Duda: “A large day for planet science. large day for Poland! We are arrogant and thrilled to see Mr.Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski go to the global Space Station,” wrote the president, “This event has not only a technological importance but besides a deep symbolic dimension. Let this flight become an inspiration for young Poles – those who bravely dream about seemingly impossible things. Today, the Republic of Poland is one more time part of a large history."
