Śląskie: The grass fire hampered the movement of trains

Firefighters are fighting a grass fire that broke out on Tuesday in the territory of Gliwice along the Katowice-Wroc3aw railway route, hindering the movement of trains.

Approximately 30 fire brigades, 2 aircraft and a fire-fighting chopper participate in the action.

Spokesperson for the Silesian fire brigade. Aneta Gołębiowska reported that the fire appeared along a railway embankment in the area of Rudziniec, Rzeczyce and Rudno.

– We have 3 fires of fire along the railway tracks on the Rudziniec – Rzeczyce section. The fire began with grass, spread partially to the forest and covered an area of about 2 hectares. The situation is not yet contained," told PAP before 4 p.m. Captain Damian Dudek of the PSP Municipal office in Gliwice.

According to the fire department, traffic has been halted for any time, now the velocity of trains on this section is limited to 20 km/h.
