British police are looking for Ethiopian asylum seekers convicted of sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl who was accidentally released from Chelmsford prison on Friday.
The man was to be sent to the deportation centre, but alternatively fled by train to London.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the situation “totally unacceptable” and assured that the police were intensively conducting the search. Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy stressed that a criminal should be deported alternatively than walking the streets. Prison service initiated an investigation and suspended 1 of the officers.
For a committed crime convicted in September Ethiopian received a year in prison and a 10-year entry in the sex offender register.
