Health education – what a subject
Health education will replace household education. It is to combine the teachings of both intellectual and physical health, medicine, and society. Ultimately, this fresh subject in schools will be optional.
For a long time, bishops have expressed their opposition to children taking part in specified activities, considering them to be demoralizing. Now – a fewer days before the start of the fresh school year – they recalled their letter to their parents from May 2025.
"Dear Parents! The future of the children is in your hands. Remember that you are in the conscience of God for their appropriate upbringing. You must not accept the systemic depravity of your children, which is to be conducted under the pretext of alleged wellness education. For the sake of upbringing and salvation, we urge you not to consent to your children's participation in these demoralizing activities" - the representatives of the Polish Episcopate asked.
Bishops say that in wellness education "marriage is an almost absent subject, and the household – understood as a father, parent and children – is completely marginalized". "But where it is referred to, it is presented in a negative context and motherhood is shown as a origin of danger. This approach (...) threatens the appropriate improvement of a individual kid and puts the demographic future of our country at stake" - they argued.
