Six fresh cities on the map of Poland. Changes from January 1, 2026

As of January 1, 2026, the Polish administrative map will gain six fresh towns. Janów Podlaski, Stanisławów, Małkinia Górna, Staroźreby, Branice, and Janów will officially receive city status. However, the changes don't end there. The Nowe Miasto Lubawskie commune will undergo a historical transformation, changing its name to Bratian. These decisions stem from a draft regulation prepared by the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
