A debate was held in the European Parliament on the situation in Gaza, during which an incidental took place involving Polish minister Adam Szpiecka. His inappropriate behaviour was captured by cameras and sparked a wave of criticism among Euro MPs.

The Polish Minister took part in the European Parliament gathering as holding the EU Presidency. During the debate on the situation of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the cameras showed how amused the Polish minister is: laughing and joking. This behaviour of the Trap was brought to the attention of the Euro MP from Belgium, Marco Boteng from the Workers organization of Belgium.

"The first thing I want to ask is to halt laughing. You laughter erstwhile we talk about death, I don't really know how many Palestinians. People who are hungry and you laugh, you tell jokes. It's not funny! Palestinians are human. You should be ashamed!" said the Euro MP, addressing the Trap.

Israel blocks all humanitarian aid, food supplies, and even electricity. And without electricity, you can't put the water away. There's no drinking water for people, families, kids, and you're laughing! How is that possible, Minister? – Marco Botenga said.

The incidental involving the Polish minister was besides noticed by the media, including Al Jazeera, who wrote about it on her website. "The laughter of Polish minister Adam Sz Trapka met with condemnation from Belgian MP Marc Boatenga during the debate on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in the European Parliament", we read on Platform X.

At the same time, American envoy to the mediate East, Steve Witkoff, presented Israel and Hamas with a fresh proposal to extend the truce in the Gaza War. The plan provides for respective weeks of extra truce for the release of 5 Israeli hostages. Witkoff's proposal was presented on Wednesday in Qatar, where indirect talks between Israel and Hamas were conducted.

The truce has been ongoing since 19 January, but the parties cannot agree to extend it. Witkoff proposed to extend the truce for the time of the Muslim Ramadan, which will last until the end of March, and the judaic Pesach festival, which ends on April 20.

According to UN data, about 2 million people live in the Gaza Strip, of which about 70% live below the minimum of existence. Israel and Hamas have been in conflict for many years and the situation in Gaza is getting worse. Humanitarian aid is essential to prevent further human suffering.

The European Union should so take more initiatives to aid Palestinians and resolve the conflict in the mediate East. Poland, as a associate of the European Union, should besides take part in these initiatives and support humanitarian aid for Palestinians.

It is worth recalling that Poland is 1 of the biggest contributions to the European Union budget and should so besides have a greater impact on European Union policy. Poland should so support European Union initiatives aimed at humanitarian aid to the Palestinians and resolving the conflict in the mediate East.
