During the MSPO in Kielce, another crucial agreement was concluded – between the Polish Armed Forces Group, Jelcz, WSK PZL Kalisz SA and Daimler Truck AG. According to the document, the assembly of Daimler's engines to the trucks of Jelcz will take care of the plants from Kalisz. Under license, they will besides gain the right to sale them under their own brand.
The agreement signed on the second day of the global Defence manufacture Salon in Kielce assumes that WSK PZL Kalisz SA (Communication Equipment Plant “PZL-Kalisz”), formerly specialized in the production of aircraft engines, will be licensed by the German company Daimler Truck A.G. first assemble and service, and yet besides produce parts for Daimler engines, which already under its own brand will sale to Jelcz as drive units for trucks of the company.
– We have quite a few experience in the aviation industry, thanks to this agreement we are entering the ground section and it is simply a chance for us to have a full manufactured engine in Poland – explains Krzysztof Nosal, president of WSK PZL Kalisz. As he explains, the first engines under Daimler's license, sold under the brand name of the Polish company, will leave the assembly line in about 2 years. “This needs to be changed, due to the fact that we do not presently have an assembly line for ground engines, but the most crucial thing is that we can do this due to the fact that present we are the only Polish company that produces combustion engine itself. It is an aircraft engine, so we are not afraid of fresh production," explains the president of the Kalisz plant.
WSK PZL Kalisz will besides be liable for the service of these engines, and yet the production is to be increasingly polarized – it will include changes postulated by the military and the production of parts. “We are arrogant to work together in this joint venture due to the fact that we will yet deliver engines that have been industrialized, designed and tested in real terms to guarantee our customers advanced reliability,” says Dennis Kinzelmann, CEO of Daimler Truck Defence.
Jelcz is to be as Polish as possible
The production of Polish engines to Jelcz is pleased with the representatives of the company.
– Thanks to the production in our yard, this engine will be available in a way. This is especially crucial to us. We effort to make Jelcz a maximum Polish, so the more Polish products there are, the better for us – explains Jelcza Mariusz Ptak.
In a akin speech present after signing the contract, the Vice president of the Board of PGZ-etu Arkadiusz Bąk spoke. "The fact that Jelcz is simply a Polish brand besides obliges us to make all components that can be produced in Poland on the territory of the Republic of Poland," he stressed.
The agreement on the installation of engines for Jelcz is not the only 1 signed present on MSPO, which assumes the polarization of components for vehicles of this brand. Among the initialled letters of intent is besides an agreement with Polish company SKB Drive Tech SA assuming the production of drive bridges, suspensions and transmissions.
Jelcz, together with PGZ-et, besides concluded an agreement with PONAR Wadowice SA concerning the polonization of hydraulic systems, including in peculiar strength hydraulic hydraulic hydraulics, hydraulic systems and hydraulic components of the vehicle turning system.
