Sikorski flashed again, online madness. Name the another diplomat

Well prepared. Class. Best head of the MFA. It's not my idea. It's people's opinions. And it's not even about Radosław Sikorski in the Sejm sticking a pin in the president and PiS. It is about how he did it, how he speaks about the Polish reason of the state and what a diplomat he is.


A day has passed since Radosław Sikorski spoke in the Sejm, and people are inactive talking about him. In PiS, agitation, emotions scope zenith. The speech of the head of the MFA is treated as an attack on president Nawrocki. And his own top enemy.

Marcin Przycz, the head of the president of the global Policy Office, addressed him: – Minister, delight remember. This is not the time to argue, this is not the time for your interior emotions.

But it doesn't change the facts. Many Poles in Sikorski's speech saw a diplomatic class, and the applause goes back to him.

"You're great", "Bravo Minister", "You're the best abroad minister I've always known", "Dyplomata at the highest level", "You know your job", "The only circumstantial person" – I read opinions on social media after Sikorski's speech in the Sejm.

The more I dig into them, the more I see the common denominator in them. People don't justice "the attack on the PiS." They don't yell, "Well said, right, that's the right thing to do." They justice especially the abroad Minister.

"A very good diplomat, he's got his head on and he knows what he's doing and saying," "We request people like that. There is no shame, there is no shame", "This is what all minister should be!" – they comment.



Let's remember. Sikorski didn't scream, he didn't challenge his opponents, there was no aggression. Carefully and calmly, step by step, he scored Karol Nawrocki, Jarosław Kaczyński and PiS. Professionally, in substance, based on facts, he dealt with the anti-EU rhetoric of Nawrocki and pointed out clearly the position of the president of Poland in Polish abroad policy.

He besides pointed out that Jarosław Kaczyński negotiated the Lisbon Treaty of 2007 and his ratification was confirmed by president Lech Kaczyński.

– If you think now, Mr President, that you were incorrect to negotiate, or that your brother should not have signed this document, then, alternatively of revenge on Brussels, possibly Poles should have apologized first? – Poland heard.

Regardless of the opinions of the right hand, Sikorski broke the bank with this speech. If they don't see it in the Law and Justice, people's reactions should make them think.

"It was a superb performance, at the point and at the highest level. I'm listening to them again."

"If there were to be a change in the position of Prime Minister (which God forbid) Mr. Sikorski would be the best candidate. There's only 1 problem – find individual in his MFA format. That would be a real challenge!".

Right. Which of the Polish diplomats showed us specified diplomacy before? Who caused specified emotions in people? It is not easy to identify another specified person, especially in fresh years.

Let us briefly remind Sikorski's predecessors.

Szymon Szyńkowski a.k.a. Sęk – in the 3rd government of Mateusz Morawiecki, which no 1 remembers about being the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs.

Zbigniew Rau – with the opinion of a boring politician who came to this position unknown and was to the end so invisible that – apart from the visa scandal of his time – he was not very memorable.

Jacek Czaputowicz – similarly. Overall, the best known for his strong statements and criticism of the policy of the Law and Justice, but already under the departure from the Ministry of abroad Affairs.

Witold Waszczykowski – it is adequate to remind of the "San Escobar" blunder that overshadowed his policy in the MFA and everything is clear. Controversy, image failures, deterioration of Poland's relation with partners in the EU – that's how we remember it.

And abruptly it's Sikorski. And his speeches at the UN not only origin an avalanche of reactions in Poland, but besides delight in the world.

"There are no shortages of voices that the minister's speech was something that we have not yet seen in our modern diplomacy," wrote Łukasz Grzegorczyk after his speech in February 2024, erstwhile the debate dominated the second anniversary of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

That speech made a real large deal both in Poland and abroad. "First-ever diplomacy" – specified were the reactions. After years of PiS government we recovered from specified reception.

When I asked Polish diplomats about them, they said: "Sikorski spoke without complexes. Like a partner, not a small brother. In the global forum, I think only Bronisław Geremek had specified recognition.

A year later, at the UN, he was again applauding. – His speeches are very well thought out. Strong. Sikorski is not afraid of strong speeches, which makes Poland easier to hear on the global stage. Very circumstantial in his views. any of his speeches are specified that I would like another Western politicians to have akin ones more frequently – a well-known Czech politician Jirzi Pehe told me.

Sikorski's next speech, in September 2025, was hailed with those that would go into history. It was very strong, aimed at Russia and Putin. “I will only say this: we know that you do not care about global law. You are incapable to live in peace with your neighbors – he spoke.

Of course, Sikorski has not been in charge of the MFA for the first time. But after the diplomatic collapse in fresh years, it is not amazing that now any Poles perceive it almost as a revelation.
