Radosław Sikorski reported that "despite the deficiency of consent for voluntary departure", they should shortly return to the country.
Minister of abroad Affairs Radosław Sikorski informed on Sunday that in Israel the Polish consul's appointments with Poles detained by their services who participated in the Global Flotilla Sumud ended. "Although they refused to leave voluntarily, they should return to their homeland in the coming days" - said the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs on social media.
"Our consul in Israel ended another gathering with 3 Polish citizens detained at GSF. Everyone's in good shape. We proceed to decision on so that they can get home as shortly as possible" - at the same time, the MFA spokesperson reported.
Sikorski reiterated his appeal to Poles to comply with travel recommendations issued by the Ministry of abroad Affairs.
There are presently 4 Polish citizens in Israeli prison, including KO MP Franciszek Sterczewski, head of the Nomada Nina Bird Association, writer Ewa Jasiewicz and president of the Social and Cultural Association of Polish Palestinians Omar Faris.
Global Movement to Gaza Poland has reported that all 4 of them were imprisoned in Ktzi’ot prison in the Negev Desert in confederate Israel. According to GMZ, 1 of the activists imprisoned by Israelis – Nina Bird – began a hunger strike.
The Global Flotilla Sumud consisted of a "common departure" of smaller ships, which were to supply humanitarian aid jointly to the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli invasion is presently underway. The Israeli army seized the flotilla at night from Wednesday to Thursday this week, taking 41 units and arresting over 470 of their crews.
