After all, Donald will decide everything, for present he seems to be betting on the head of the MFA – told the diary 1 of the PO politicians.
According to the newspaper's findings, the second major candidate for the post of secretary-general is Jarosław Urbaniak.
Currently this function is held by Marcin Kierwiński.
Trzaskowski calmly for his position
Changes to the Platform are to go further. The media reports show that at the party's legislature Rafał Trzaskowski will say goodbye to the position of Vice-President of the PO. However, the president of Warsaw rejects these reports.
I don't realize why these revelations are just starting to happen. I remind you that we are consolidating and extending the civilian Coalition. Together we will make this decision said the president of Warsaw in Interzdroje during Campus Academy and added – I am very calm about my position in the civilian Coalition. For a very simple reason – present we all should be together.
Beginnings of the Civic Platform
The past of the Civic Platform began in 2001 on the initiative of Donald Tusk, Maciej Plażyński and Andrzej Olechowski. Maciej Plażyński was elected as the first PO president. The organization debuted in the parliamentary elections of the same year, gaining 12.7 percent of the vote and taking second place. Thanks to the agreement with AWS, UW, PiS and ROP, a joint list was issued to the Senate. However, the group leaders rejected the anticipation of cooperating with the SLD, which made the PO the top opposition force against Leszek Miller's government.
In 2003, Maciej Płażyński left the ranks of the Civic Platform, and his place as leader was Donald Tusk. The management of the parliamentary club was entrusted to Jan Rokita. A year later, in the first elections to the European Parliament, the organization was successful, winning 24.1% of the vote.
