Minister of peculiar Services coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak stressed during the Warsaw conference "inSec" that modern technologies are crucial to the defence of the Polish border. "Man is essential, officer and soldier, but these are fresh technologies - sensors, cameras and various another tools - give the chance to accomplish the effectiveness we are talking about - 98 percent effective in countering these attacks" - said Siemoniak.
The Minister recalled that border safety has become a global priority. "The full planet talks about it, it's not just a metaphor. (...) Whether in Asia, South America, the democratic state or a country not known for democracy, the subject of a safe border everywhere is absolutely a number 1 issue" - he spoke about discussions at the London summit.
Weaponisation of migration
Siemoniak pointed to a change in the approach of the European Commission, which the migrant problem called veponisation of migration. "This is precisely what we experience on the Polish-Belarusian border, where not our neighbours Belarus, but people who pay, fly to Moscow, Minsk, after which with the support of the various services there are delivered to the border" - he recalled.
This change in the perception of the problem has led to crucial EU funds being allocated to defend borders. "This is the sign of times that illegal migrants - after all people besides - are primarily treated as a threat and are just pawns in various games" - said the minister.
Polish collateral
The Minister recalled the immense expenditure on securing the Polish border. "Let us remember this large effort, about nearly 3 billion zlotys spent to make there an electronic firewall, an full monitoring system. Let us remember that there are 11 1000 officers and soldiers on standby" - said Siemoniak.
Every day, respective twelve attempts to illegally cross the border are repulsed and noted. "We are safer, we are better protected thanks to these different actions, while this force is inactive happening" - said the Minister.
New legal tools
Siemoniak pointed out that effectiveness besides requires controversial legal tools previously, specified as suspending the right to asylum. "Now it is simply a border defender who, judging the situation, makes a decision - if they are people from susceptible groups, older people, sick people, injured women, pregnant women, they are admitted, while others just don't" - he said.
The Minister added that specified solutions had previously been introduced by Finland, and now no 1 is questioning them. The problem besides concerns another countries in the region - Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
XXVII Conference and Exhibition of Border safety "inSec 2025" promotes actions concerning border protection and means of their security. The one-day conference is accompanied by an exhibition of companies producing border protection equipment, including drones, communication systems and reflection devices.
