In November, the Council of Ministers [designated Sweden](https://defence24.pl/polityka-obronna/polska-orka-wybrana-szwedzkie-wladze-komentuja) as the country of first choice in the Orka program. A fewer weeks later, a Polish-Swedish [cooperation agreement](https://defence24.pl/polityka-obronna/program-orka-rusza-polsko-szwedzka-umowa-podpisana) was signed related to the supply of submarines. They will be built by the Saab Kockums shipyard in Karlskrona. Now the parties are facing the most hard phase of the talks - negotiating a contract for the supply of [three fresh vessels](https://defence24.pl/przemysl/orka-po-szwedzku-okrety-podwodne-a26-w-szczegolach-analiza) to the Polish Navy. The contract, which is scheduled to be signed by the end of the first half of next year, will besides include armament purchases.
