Shame

What's the large deal? I'll explain.
It is increasingly common to announcement how representatives of contemporary "elit", specified as Rafał Trzaskowski, wear daffodils – a symbol of commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. However, Grzegorz Braun rightly points out that wearing this sign – alternatively of Polish national symbols – becomes an expression of any separation from Polish historical identity. Zonkil, although referring to the tragic past of Jews in occupied Warsaw, is not a symbol straight related to the suffering or conflict of Poles for freedom.

Meanwhile, we have our own profoundly Polish symbols of martyrdom – 1 of them is the flower of flax, worn for example to commemorate the victims of the Volyn massacre. The flax flower reminds of the tragedy of Poles murdered only for being Poles, on the east Borders during planet War II.

In a situation where "elites" advance mainly the memory of events related to the past of the judaic people, and marginalize the dramatic destiny of their own countrymen, 1 can talk about a certain deviation of values and the failure of an authentic sense of national community. Wearing a daffodils – alternatively of even remembering the flowers of flax – shows that for many representatives of power, narratives entering judaic historical memory are more crucial than those resulting from Polish suffering and Polish conflict for survival.

The problem with this full situation is that its own past is pushed to the background, and national suffering – overlooked by silence. Shame.
