The ultimate Audit Office reacted to media reports on the alleged visa scandal in the MFA. NIK announced that “in the next fewer weeks” will be carried out “ad hoc control in the MFA”. In an interview with RMF FM chief NIK Marian Banaś added that it could be “one of the biggest scandals” in the 3rd Polish Republic. In connection with the scandal, 7 people heard prosecutorial charges.
The National Prosecutor's Office has stated that it is investigating this with the Central Anti-corruption Office. It concerns irregularities in the submission of applications for respective 100 visas within 1 and a half years. Investigators indicated that little than half of these applications were approved.
