Poland. The parliament took on Tuesday by acclamation resolution on commemoration of the victims of the May coup 1926. The Sejm, referring to the experience of 100 years ago, appeals to all participants in public life with moderation, respect for the Constitution, the law and readiness to build a community beyond divisions. The resolution of the Sejm de facto condemns the May assassination by Józef Piłsudski. "In the century of the May coup of 12 May 2026, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland pays tribute to all victims of these dramatic events" – it is written. "Today we bow our heads before 379 victims of fratricidal fighting – soldiers faithful to oaths and 164 civilians who have become defenseless witnesses to national drama," says the resolution of the Sejm. It was assessed that "the days were a wound caused by a young Republic: a Pole appeared against a Pole, and the political dispute was settled by violence, undermining the foundations of democracy and the regulation of law".
