The head of the Chadian MFA Abderaman Koulamallah and Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko criticised French president Emmanuel Macron for showing contempt for the people of Africa. This is related to Macron's statement, which stated that the leaders of African states in the Sahel area "forgot to thank" France for helping fight the jihadists.
