The amendment voted on concerns stocks of oil, petroleum products and natural gas and the rules for dealing with fuel safety situations of the state. It includes the introduction of authoritative maximum prices for petrol and diesel. The maximum price will be announced by the Minister of Energy. Its amount will be determined according to a expression covering the average wholesale price of fuels on the home marketplace plus excise duty, fuel charge and premium of PLN 0,30 per litre and VAT. For sale above the maximum price, there will be a punishment of up to PLN 1 million. The Prime Minister predicts that prices before Christmas should be lower by 1.20 PLN per litre. 428 Members voted in favour of the amendment.
The Sejm besides passed a bill enabling the Minister of Finance reduction of excise work on fuel. It will be able to be introduced in time to limit the effects of the war in the mediate East.
