IS-2 dense tank, T-34-76 – 1 of the most recognisable medium-sized tanks of planet War II, self-propelled 2S-1 carnation–M tank or a caterpillar floating armored transporter Topas 2AP... This is only a part of respective military vehicles to be presented on 15 August at the outdoor exhibition of the Polish Military Museum in Warsaw.
On the Day of the Polish Army Warsaw and guests will not only be able to admire the latest equipment in the equipment of the army during the National Defence Department. Historical weapons are besides waiting for military lovers. On 15 August at the Warsaw Citadel Polish Military Museum. An outdoor exhibition of historical armored technology will be opened there during the “We invitation you to join the army”. There will be a twelve vehicles, including tanks, self-propelled and armoured transporters and an exhibition of towed artillery utilized by the Polish Army in the pre-war, war and post-war period. “The exhibition aims to bring the technological and strategical aspects of the war to the visitors, as well as to commemorate Polish soldiers who fought for the freedom of our country”, says Magdalena Rochnowska, deputy manager of the MWP for education, events and promotion.
On August 15th, the Citadel will be able to see closely, among others, the IS-2 dense tank produced by russian production or the T-34 average tank, being 1 of the most recognizable average tanks of planet War II.
Two versions of the second will be presented – the earlier 1 with the Kal section. 76 mm, equipped with a tower with an unusual, uncommon plan introduced into usage in the autumn of 1942, cast from 2 elements welded horizontally, and with mounted on the front panel of the hull in the 1950s, brackets allowing the assembly of specialized equipment. Later version, with a kal cannon. 85 mm embedded in a fresh tower, introduced into action since early 1944, at the exhibition will be seen in a little-known, four-color post-war camouflage from 1965.
In addition to the above mentioned equipment, PT-76 – a light floating tank of the ZSRS construction and a average tank of the T-55 U, which in the 1980s was 1 of the best structures in its class, will besides be exhibited.
Among the self-propelled artillery, the ZSU-57-2 anti-aircraft gun, the 2S-1 Carnation-M self-propelled Haubica with mill number 965080, the SU-76 light-duty gun, and the heavy-duty ISU-152 armored gun. Jerozolimskie, where the Polish Military Museum had previously been established, and any will go to the exhibition from the Polish Military Technology Museum in Warsaw, a branch of the MWP. “Vehicles are the origin of a mark outdoor exhibition, which will stand at the WP Museum at the Citadel,” explains Rochnowska.
As the Ministry of Defence announces, during a joint celebration of the Polish Army on the Citadel there will besides be a show of modern military weapons and equipment, including allied army equipment, and on phase there will be amateur artists from military clubs. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
