A gathering close the Polish-Ukrainian border actually took place, which papers a number of photographs. "Admiral Sir Tony Radakin is recognized in Washington and Kiev as an increasingly crucial actor," writes Dan Sabbagh, editor of defence and safety in Kiev in the article "The Guardian" (Saturday, August 26, 2023). "One day ago, any of NATO's highest-ranked military alliances went to a secret location on the Polish-Ukrainian border to meet with Ukraine's chief military commander, General Waleria Załużne, as part of what was privately called "war council".
It was not just a discussion: The Decent took the full command squad with him in a journey of about 500 miles from Kiev. The goal of the five-hour gathering was to aid reset the military strategy Ukraine – the main point of the programme was to take action in connection with the inhibiting advancement of Ukrainian counteroffensive, along with conflict plans for the coming exhausting winter and long-term strategy in the face of the inevitable war entering 2024.
Especially noteworthy was the presence of not only NATO's military chief, U.S. General Christopher Cavali, but besides Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, the highest ranking British officer who is now recognized in Washington and Kiev as an increasingly crucial actor helping Ukraine defeat Russia and Russian invaders. It wasn't the first conversation. The summit on the border was partially held after Radakin went without British ministers to Kiev, where he held a non-public 45-minute gathering with the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski, whose aim, as the defence sources say, is to better realize Ukraine's strategy and how the west could help.
Concerning the White home for the fact that the United States appears to be heavy active in the war in Ukraine, caused Radakina's rival at the Pentagon, General Mark Milley, to be banned from travelling to Ukraine. But Britain, whose army is much smaller than the US, has no specified concerns. A fewer days earlier, Milley insisted, during a teleconference held on 10 August, to which Radakin had besides joined, that the Deserved should focus the counteroffensive on “one main front”, he stated “New York Times”. Even in a time of safe military communication, however, any conversations can only be conducted face to face.
Radakin's photograph taken on the Polish border with Załużny and Cavalim in military uniform shows their friendly relationship. The Ukrainian general includes both men. usually Radakin brings as a gift a bottle of Glenmorangie – the Healed's favourite whisky. Oleksij Danilov, secretary of the National safety Council of Ukraine, said that Załużyj told him after a gathering at the border “this is our guy”.
British sources say small about the result of the gathering at the border. However, signals from the West are that as a consequence of discussions Ukraine's strategy has changed.
