The Management Board of the Association of Polish Journalists awarded the title of Hiena of the Year 2024 Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf and Grzegorz Nawrock from TVP in liquidation. They are the authors of the TVP Info program entitled “Dangerous Unions” which hits the Radio Maryja environment. "The persons mentioned have violated almost all the rules that journalists in the civilised planet should abide by," wrote the Board in its justification for its decision.
Every year, on the occasion of the awards awarded by the SDP to journalists, the association besides points out “Hiens of the Year”. Journalists are given the title, who have distinguished themselves with peculiar infidelity and disregard for the principles of journalistic ethics. This year, Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf and Grzegorz Nawrocki received this dubious laurel. The journalists taken over by force in December 2023 are the authors of the program "Will PiS be liable for backing Rydzyk?" from the series "Dangerous Relationships". The material was aired on TVP Info on October 10, 2024.
"The authors did not keep the rule of integrity in collecting and publishing information and the right to comment impartially. The program was built on alleged facts that did not actually happen. Nor have they given any sources of information’
– stressed in the justification for granting Hiena of the Year 2024.
The SG SDP states that these people have violated almost all the rules that journalists in the civilized planet should follow. These principles are included in the Polish and global Charter of Journalistic Ethics. Their reminder replaces the detailed justification for the Management Board's decision to award the anti-reward. specified justification would number at least a fewer twelve pages filled with lying quotations of journalists and their guests. It besides avoids entering into a polemic with evident lies and many innuendos of the authors of the program
