German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Wednesday the request to increase the amount of humanitarian aid arriving by land to the Gaza Strip to over 500 trucks per day.
Scholz welcomed the launch of humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip by air and the agreement to establish a sea corridor for humanitarian supplies, but stressed that this was not adequate to meet humanitarian needs enclaves.
"We besides believe that more border crossings should be opened so that more trucks can enter the Gaza Strip. Our mark is not more than 200 trucks, but over 500 trucks a day. This is the only way to guarantee that the people of Gaza are supplied with what they need," Scholz said in the lower chamber of the German Parliament.
