


Every year in April we celebrate the alleged Saper Day. Under this name lies the feast of all engineering troops. There's always a lot going on in Stargard on Saper Day. Our soldiers traditionally celebrate with invited guests. This is an chance to see military equipment, parades, as well as taking part in a solemn gathering. Promotions, awards and commemorative badges are besides presented all year.
It is worth knowing that there is simply a bomb squad office in the cemetery at T. Kościuszko Street. Most of the soldiers who died are rested there, minimizing Stargard in 1945, but besides 2 paramedics. This year's Saper Day celebration in our city began at the renovated accommodation. After the recall, further celebrations moved to the Red Barrack. There was traditionally a gathering, a parade and a demonstration of military equipment, despite the unfavourable weather. Awards were besides presented. This year's civilian Forces Day was besides an chance to delegate duties to the fresh commander – Lieutenant Colonel Mariusz Sołtys, who replaced Lieutenant Colonel Artur Tarnowski in this position.
– Respect, appreciation and gratitude – all that deserves are Soldiers from @2. Stargard Bombers Battalion. Their continued presence in our city – for more than half a century – is highly important. Soldiers, we want you good wellness and satisfaction in your service. Thank you for expanding our security,” says president Rafał Zając.
W Stargard has been stationed for over 50 years with the 2nd Stargard Bomber Battalion, which is subject to the 12th Mechanized Division. During peace, their tasks include supporting civilians during natural disasters. Our soldiers are besides active in charitable activities. For many years there has been a Military Blood Donor Club “Saper” operating at the 2nd Battalion. Families of soldiers, their friends and the youngest old-timers are always active in the yearly celebrations of the civilian Forces Festival. Children in kindergarten and simple schools are usually impressed by military vehicles. Young people are besides eager to participate in competitions and games – of course in bomb squads.
