The Palm Sunday Liturgy in Sandomierz inaugurated the celebration of the large Week. The celebrations presided over by Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz brought together many faithful in the Old Town marketplace and in the cathedral basilica.
Liturgy began on the market, at the figure of Our Lady, where Fr. A passage of the Gospel about Jesus ’ entry into Jerusalem was then read, after which the faithful in the procession went through the streets of the city to the cathedral basilica, where the Eucharist was celebrated.
The liturgy was attended by priests, young people, representatives of the Knights of Sandomierz Land and residents of the city. After reading the description of the Lord's Passion according to St Matthew, the bishop of Sandomierz gave a homily in which he encouraged individual reflection on his own attitude toward Jesus.
