Former Interior Minister Sanae Takaichi was elected the first female to service as president of the ruling Liberal Democratic organization (LDP) on Saturday, Japantimes reported. According to the media, she will almost surely become the first female to service as the country's prime minister, defeating Agriculture Minister Shinjiro Koizumi in the second round.
