"We will not let go due to the fact that the voice of young people, their lives must be a priority" - wrote Monika Horna-Cieślak on the X platform. The Ombudsman for the Rights of the kid spoke on the mention to the Constitutional Court by president Andrzej Duda of the Act on Access to a scientist for Children over the age of 13.

The bill sent to the TK by president Duda afraid teenagers. It assumes that patients who are 13 years of age will be able to receive intellectual assistance without approval of the maintainer.

The current law states that persons under the age of 18 must have approval to contact a psychologist. The amendment to the Patient Rights Act and the Patient Rights Ombudsman would put up with this formality. The specialist would have 7 days to notify the parent or guardian of the kid with the support given - unless this endangers the patient's life.

- I'm sorry. It's not a veto. This time, the bill is directed by me to the TK in preventive mode. The origin is very simple. It's about kid safety.. In my opinion, it is very dubious constitutionally so that completely out of parental control, a young 13-year-old man can choose a scientist and submit to his therapies. It's a complex problem. It's a question of kid safety and parents' rights - argued Andrzej Duda on tv Republika.
