In Poland there has been talk about the request to defend bees for years. They are liable for pollination of a vast part of crops and chaotic vegetation, forming the foundation of the full ecosystem. Without them there is no unchangeable agriculture, there is no biodiversity, and in the long word there is no food security. It is all the more incomprehensible that alternatively of real support, the Tuska State is giving beekeepers further bureaucratic responsibilities, which will reduce the number of apiaries again.
The Tusk government hit red tape on apiaries. March 18, 2026 in force regulations have enteredwhich impose an work to registry each apiary without any exceptions. This applies not only to large honey producers, but besides to people with 1 hive in the garden or on the plot. Failure to registry means a clear violation of the law.
The fresh regulations end any earlier explanation doubts. Each bee owner must study the apiary to the region veterinarian, communicate its location and the number of hives and then update these data twice a year. It does not substance the scale of activity – regulations include both professional beekeepers and amateurs. Even 1 hive means entering the strategy of state records.
In theory, it is “just a formality”. In practice, this is another work that will become an insurmountable barrier for many people. The reasons for the changes are typical: "system order" and "adaptation to EU law". At the same time, however, the fresh government introduces a amazing contradiction: the statutory work to combat the American rot, 1 of the most dangerous bee diseases, has been abolished.
In another words, the state wants to know about each apiary, but at the same time withdraws from the hard tools to fight a real threat to the full population of bees. This shows that we are not so much afraid about the ecosystem as with expanding administrative control.
The smallest ones will endure the most – enthusiasts, plotters, people leading respective hives “for themselves”. It was this group that built a beekeeping culture in Poland for years and truly supported local ecosystems. Today, he is faced with a choice: to enter the bureaucratic system, or to quit the apiary. Many will choose the second option by giving up on the activity that burdens their next responsibilities. Effect? A decrease in the number of tiny apiaries, and thus besides a decrease in pollinators – precisely other to the declared environmental policy objectives.
Apiculture should be peculiarly supported. The State should simplify procedures, offer incentives and real support, not treat beekeepers as another section to be recorded. Beekeeping is not only 1 of many production sectors – it is part of the country's biological infrastructure. Its importance goes far beyond the sale of honey or the laws governing the marketplace economy. It's about ecosystem stability. Meanwhile, the direction of change set by the Tusk government is clear: more responsibilities, more reporting, more control.
The fresh rules are also example of a phenomenon that can be called directly: bureaucratic murderism. alternatively of supporting environmentally beneficial activities, the state complicates them. A complete evidence of apiaries may look good on paper, but reality is simpler: the more formalities, the less people will want to get involved. And in the case of bees, it means 1 thing – we'll all lose it.
