On Friday, the government is expected to present a bill on the position of the closest individual or – in another explanation – a task legalising partnerships in Poland. The bill is the consequence of an agreement between the conservative PSL and the alleged progressive Left. In September, the issue of partnerships returned to government legislative priorities. present we have learned that the draft Act on the position of the nearest individual will be presented on Friday, which is to stabilise the informal links from the legal side.
Under the position of a loved one, there will be 20 rights, which have previously been granted, among others, to persons who are married, including joint taxation settlements, inheritance or access to medical information about the spouse and, in the case of a fresh project, a partner.
However, the current division of power in Poland forces a compromise between the centre-left government and the centre-right Presidential Palace. Karol Nawrocki has not ruled out the signing of the law on the position of a loved one, but reserves that he will not support any task that will introduce into the legal strategy of “quasi-marriage”.
At the same time, the president expressed his willingness to sign a law that would regulate informal romantic, friendly and volunteer relations with combatants as part of the closest person's status.
The head of the Office of global Policy of the President, Marcin Przycz, later stressed one more time on behalf of the Palace that Nawrocki would not sign any bill that would compete with the institution of marriage, conventional household and/or contain ideological elements.
The contract on the position of the nearest individual is to be concluded with the notary and then registered with the civilian position office.
